Hello world!

It’s my 90th birthday today, and to celebrate entering my eleventh decade, I thought – or rather my daughter Vivianne thought – it was about time I had my own website to show seven decades of my work.

This is my first post and it features a painting called “Chance Encounter”.

I’d like to tell you a little about the painting… it’s a gouache but it is collaged – so it’s created by using paper cut outs. I made this piece in around 2011 and is part of a whole series of gouache paintings from around this time. I came to gouache much later than oil and have to say they have turned out to be some of my favourite work.
